Tamaracks

I didn’t know there were conifers that turned brilliant colors and lost their needles in the fall, but now we have discovered the beauty of tamarack trees. They’re like Christmas trees, but instead of staying green all year, they become bright yellow or lime when fall hits. Really neat.

  1. Those are really pretty. Nice change from the evergreen.

Beautiful. I remember when we lived in Nelson that this color would start at the top of the mountain and move down in the fall. Then the green would start at the bottom of the mountain and move up in the spring. One of nature’s lovely rituals.
