We watched “The Sandlot” with the kids tonight and they LOVED it. I loved it when I was a kid, and apparently it has the perfect combination of boy humor, social peril, and simple story line, because all four kids were riveted through the whole thing. There are a few bad words though.

The boys have their summer haircuts now. The short hair makes it easier to check for ticks, too. Never had to do that in Seattle!

Ethan was playing stickball with Grandma in the yard this afternoon and decided to throw his stick-bat into the air, where it managed to land right on Sam’s neck. This after Ellie stepped on a nail, and Ethan skinned his elbow (falling off his bike) and shins (tripping over the fire pit grill while chasing floating fuzz). Added to Josh’s banged up face, we’re quite the wounded family.

Grandpa Bob has been doing all kinds of work.

Josh has been working, too. Today he washed the dirt out of the tractor bucket. He could not have been happier.

  1. Ouch. Did you get Ellie a tetnus shot and make sure her injury was cleaned really good. Michelle ended up in the hospital for a week from stepping on a nail when she was a kid. Poor Sam. Still, the kids look like they are enjoying country living.
